With approval, students may take a Special Major. Special
major applicants must select and form an advisory committee
of three permanent faculty members, and present a detailed
proposal to the Special Major committee, a sub-committee of
the College’s Curriculum Committee. The deadline to apply is
March 1 of the student’s sophomore year. Sophomore
applicants who will be away in the first semester of their
junior year are encouraged to submit the proposal before the
March 1 deadline in case changes are requested from the
Special Major committee. Transfer students entering as
juniors cannot normally take a Special Major, and should
contact the Registrar’s Office if an exception is desired. |
