The Program in Public Policy Analysis
is one of Pomona College’s most distinctive majors. Usually
reserved for graduate level study, this multi-disciplinary
major melds education in a traditional academic field (such
as economics or biology) with a core curriculum in policy
analysis. The combination gives students a broad array of
analytic techniques and practical experience in the dynamics
of making and implementing policy. The program gives
students a solid preparation in their academic concentration
with the skills needed to be effective decision makers in a
professional setting.
The program has ten formal majors but
also welcomes students who design special majors to meet
their unique academic interests. In addition to the director
and associate director, the program
has a steering committee comprised of ten faculty members and three students.
